The Fresno State School of Nursing was recently named one of the Top 50 “Best Online RN to BSN programs” in the U.S.! This list was compiled by RNtoBSN.org, an organization consisting of professional nurses, educators and writers, whose mission is to further the education of new and established nurses, as it concerns RN to BSN programs.
Fresno Stated ranked in at #46 out of a list of 100 nursing programs across the country. According to RN to BSN, the programs on the list offer a complete online education route with minimal on-site clinical practicums.
“What sets these schools apart from the rest is dedication and resources they have put towards providing a first-class nursing education, but at the pace and location that works for you,” representatives stated on the website.
The RN to BSN program at Fresno State is designed for associate degree nurses with a registered nursing license to complete upper division nursing courses that fulfill the BSN degree without having to repeat lower division nursing coursework. Upper division nursing coursework expands upon leadership and management principles, and introduces research and evidence-based practice methodologies, as well as population-focused community health nursing.
The BSN offers RNs a wider variety of job possibilities. Knowledge of nursing theory, research methods and evidence-based practice, as well as community health nursing principles and practice and expanded leadership/management skills, set the BSN graduate apart. A baccalaureate degree in nursing prepares RNs for entry into MSN and School Nurse Credential programs, and broadens opportunities for management positions.
